Changelog

Secret Clipboard 0.1.0 First release macOS 14+

Secret Clipboard starts as a small menu bar utility for keeping recent clipboard items close without turning your clipboard into a cloud service.

New

  • Menu bar clipboard history for recent text, links, email addresses, and images.
  • Fast copy-back from the popover, including local Command+1 through Command+0 shortcuts for the first visible history items.
  • Search and filters for text, URLs, email addresses, images, and all items.
  • Local saved history that survives relaunch.
  • Optional encrypted saved history using a macOS Keychain-backed key.
  • Best-effort sanitizer for common sensitive patterns such as bearer tokens, passwords, API keys, emails, URL tokens, long hex tokens, and known provider token shapes.
  • Optional auto-clear for unchanged system clipboard contents after a delay you choose.
  • Image history with thumbnails in the UI and original image payloads kept locally for copy-back.
  • Launch-at-login support.
  • System, Light, and Dark appearance modes.
  • Free plan for lightweight text history.
  • Secret Clipboard Pro as a one-time, non-consumable In-App Purchase through Apple, unlocking image history, larger retention limits, sanitizer, auto-clear, display controls, and appearance controls.

Privacy and Storage

  • No account required.
  • No cloud sync.
  • No advertising SDKs.
  • No third-party analytics SDKs.
  • Clipboard contents are processed locally on the Mac and are not intentionally sent to the developer.

  • Saved records and image payloads are encrypted locally when encrypted history is enabled.
