Secret Clipboard
Privacy Policy

Secret Clipboard does not require an account. It does not use advertising SDKs or third-party analytics SDKs. Clipboard contents are processed locally on your Mac and are not intentionally sent to us.
Secret Clipboard is a local macOS clipboard manager. This policy explains what the app reads, what stays on your Mac, what may be handled by Apple for App Store purchases, and how to contact us.
Information Processed By The App
Secret Clipboard reads clipboard text, images, and minimal metadata needed to display, classify, search, copy back, delete, and manage clipboard history. The app also stores local settings such as history limits, display preferences, sanitizer settings, auto-clear settings, launch-at-login preference, appearance preference, and whether encrypted history is enabled.
Clipboard content may include sensitive information depending on what you copy, such as passwords, tokens, private messages, screenshots, documents, email addresses, or URLs. You should review your settings and saved history with that in mind.
Local Storage
Secret Clipboard stores clipboard history locally on your Mac so it can be restored after relaunch. Text history is saved as local app records. Image history stores local image payload files so copied images can be copied back later.
If encrypted history is off, saved history may be stored as local plaintext records and local image files. If encrypted history is on, saved records and image payloads are encrypted locally using a key stored in your macOS Keychain.
Secret Clipboard also stores app preferences locally using macOS system storage.
Keychain
When encrypted history is enabled, Secret Clipboard creates or reads a local encryption key from your macOS Keychain. macOS may ask you to allow access to this Keychain item. If access is denied, encrypted history may not be enabled or restored.
Sanitizer And Auto-Clear
If sanitizer is enabled, Secret Clipboard can replace detected sensitive values in the system clipboard with placeholders. The sanitizer is a best-effort local tool and may not detect every secret or every format.
Auto-clear can clear unchanged system clipboard content after a delay you choose. Other apps on your Mac may still be able to read clipboard contents while those contents are present on the system clipboard.
Purchases
Secret Clipboard Pro is offered as a one-time, non-consumable In-App Purchase through Apple. Product information, purchases, refunds, receipts, entitlements, and restore flows are handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. We do not receive your payment card details.
Apple may provide us with App Store sales, financial, and transaction reporting information according to Apple's developer programs and privacy policies.
Data Sharing
We do not sell clipboard contents. We do not intentionally transmit clipboard contents to our servers. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the app.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or security of users, the app, or others.
Website And Support
The Secret Clipboard website is intended to be a simple static site. We do not intentionally use cookies, advertising trackers, or third-party analytics on the website unless this policy is updated.
If you contact support, we will receive the information you choose to send, such as your email address, app version, macOS version, screenshots, logs, and message text. Do not send passwords, tokens, private clipboard contents, or other secrets in support requests.
Our hosting provider may process standard technical information, such as IP address, user agent, request time, and security logs, to deliver and protect the website.
Your Choices
You can delete saved clipboard history in the app. You can turn encryption, sanitizer, auto-clear, launch-at-login, and other settings on or off. You can also quit or uninstall the app at any time.
Because Secret Clipboard does not create an account or intentionally send clipboard contents to us, we usually cannot access, export, or delete clipboard history for you. Clipboard history is controlled locally on your Mac.
Changes
We may update this policy when the app, website, or legal requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
